Yesterday we put in some long hours making our showroom look as wonderful as possible! Not only did we have many, many pretty new things to put on display, but we have some special guests coming today! The owner of LEE Industries, his wife (who does their marketing), and Bondi (who buys all their fabrics) are all coming for a visit! We are so excited to have them pass through, if only for a little while!

Time for round two of one of our newest columns, Lisa’s LOVES! With Spring in full force, we thought it was time to get the scoop on Lisa’s favorite seasonal trends, road trip destinations, and much more! Let’s get started, shall we?
Lisa, what is your favorite…
Bright and skinny!
Spring fashion trend? Silky flowy tops with pearls and bright colored skinny jeans.
Weekend roadtrip destination? ALWAYS New Orleans. It’s in our backyard and is the best city to antique and enjoy the best of Louisiana cuisine.
Piece of furniture on the showroom floor right now? I LOVE our black Tritter Feefer desk and Mr. Brown cabinet that we just put on the floor. Gorgeous! These you must come see with your own eyes!
Dessert? The blueberry cobbler at Local 463!
Nate 'n Al's in Beverly Hills
Thing you did in LA when you went with Brian on trips for The Voice? I really had little time to tour the city. They wanted us to hang out at the hotel which was “ground zero” for all of the artists and their families just in case you were called to go to the Sony lot for taping. One day my husband and I did go into Beverly Hills to eat brunch at my fav deli – Nate and Al’s. And I was sitting across from Zac Galifianakis!

Project you’re working on? I have a fabulous project in Shreveport, LA. It’s a big update for my client. She hasn’t bought any new furnishings for her house in 15 years! We are totally changing the vibe of her current look. She has purchased some great art, a big James Beamon with bright yellows and a large Andrew Bucci with cobalt blue, black and bright yellow so I am using that as my jumping off point. We just made our presentation to her and she loved everything! We’ll post some before and after pics so everyone can see her transformation!
Must have makeup item? At my age, I’d have to say my Benefit concealer and sleep! Oh… and I can’t forget my Nars lipstick in Heat Wave.

We wanted to take a minute and brag on Chelsea and her organizational skills! She’s got our fabric library looking better than ever! We all envy her knack for folding those fabrics so perfectly and organizing them so beautifully…
As you could probably guess, keeping the fabric library organized is a full-time job… We’re all ALWAYS picking through these fabrics looking for just the right thing. Take a look and this organization despite all the picking and pulling!

The Township Jazz Festival date has been announced: Saturday, May 5!
This is one event you do not want to miss! The headliner this year is Mose Allison (who is a pretty big deal!) The festival gets started around noon and will go til 7. And since the fest is on Cinco de Mayo, you can just pick up and head over to Sombra for some Mexican fun as the festival closes down!
We’ll keep you posted about the exciting plans SummerHouse has for that day as the time draws nearer. But go ahead and mark your calendars for some guaranteed fun on May 5!

Just last week, two of our favorite furniture designers, Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams, were featured on CBS Sunday Morning! The feature outlines their journey of meeting, developing a business plan, and becoming successful as entrepreneurs making pretty and, more importantly, COMFORTABLE furniture! The feature also highlights their unconventional marketing tactics, the perks they offer to those who work for their company (including a day care and a dry-cleaning service!) and what their original business plan was, before it was furniture! For those of you who don’t know Brittany, she’s one of the most amazing assistants ever! She helps Marty, Lisa, and all the designers with just about anything they need help with! We’ve loved getting to know her and Adam over the course of the past year and a half or so, and we are super happy that they found each other!

Our NOLA Rug Show continues! It ends Sunday, though, so hurry up and come see these fantastic rugs before they go back to New Orleans! As the show goes on, our love for NOLA Rugs just grows and grows… They really do have such a beautiful range of styles, colors, prices, types…. And we’ve got a whole team of people on hand to move things around so you can see every single rug!

Not only is the weather gorgeous (for now), and our NOLA Rug Show going beautifully (more on that later today), but Mottega featured us on their blog! Mottega is a unique designer lamp company that actually allows you to design your very own lamp, from shape to color to base to shade… Each product they ship truly is one of a kind! And each product is truly stunning…
They did a designer spotlight with the one and only Lisa Palmer, which was such a fun interview to read!
