Happy Thursday! This day is finally here… We’ve been anticipating this event for so long! :)  Just a little recap of what’s going on this evening at SHOP LOCAL SOCIAL:

The party will be from 5:00 to 8:30 at SummerHouse.  VIP Catering and Soulshine are providing the food.  Vintage Wine Market is providing the wine.  Swag bags for our 25 VIP’s filled with goodies from our favorite local shops, but if you’re not a VIP, no worries! We’ll be giving away a REALLY good door prize! We’ll have a photo booth with photographer Byron Wilkes snapping some fun pics while DJ Young Venom is mixing some groovy tunes. Speaking of photo booth… We actually caught Brittany modeling one of the moustaches that came with our photo booth props! She is totally rocking this look, don’t you think?!

We just got in samples of Galbraith and Paul’s newest introductions and… WOW… They are fabulous! Galbraith never ceases to amaze us… Their use of color and their super fun patterns always make us swoon! Primitive Flower, Candy Stripe, and Diamond (pictured in that order) are the newest additions to the colorful family of G&P fabrics.

One reason we love G&P so much (other than the fact that they produce a great fabric!) is because of how easy they are to work with! If we love one pattern, but want it done on a velvet instead of a linen, and with blues and greens insead of yellows and oranges, all we have to do is tell them! Before and After: A Masculine Study

Here is another remarkable before and after by Lisa Palmer! This study was sort of the “catch-all” room for this beautiful house Lisa has been working on.  When these customers told Lisa that their house was going to be on tour for a fundraiser, we realized that we had a lot of work ahead of us!  One thing that bothered Lisa about this room in the beginning was the color of all the wood in the space.  Lisa enlisted the help of our wonderful faux finisher Virginia Weathersby to liven up the wood and make the color a little richer.  It made such a difference! All new furniture, drapery, a new rug, and newly organized bookshelves all come together to make a very impressive “after!”

This study/office is now a functional, beautiful, warm, masculine space that the family can fully enjoy.  What do you most love about this room?

The weather has been so beautiful lately! The daytime temperature has not reached an unbearable high yet, which we can all be thankful for, and the nighttime temperature has been almost perfect! Weather like this makes us all wish for a beautiful outdoor living space like this one.  This is a project Lisa recently completed that turned out SO well!  We know for a fact that the family this screened-in outdoor room belongs to has really been enjoying it! What a perfect place to entertain or throw a dinner for friends!

Drapery out of washable/bleachable outdoor fabric will be easy to clean. These can be thrown in the wash and re-hung! Easy as that!

These tall candle stands make such a statement in this empty corner.  At night when the candles are lit, they can be enjoyed from inside and outside of this room!

This driftwood table is perfect for an outdoor living space!

The perfect place to have a summer dinner party!

If you follow us on Twitter or Facebook, you’ve probably been able to sense our excitement about an upcoming event we are planning with Jackson Free Press! If you DON’T follow/like us, you need to! (Here are links to the SummerHouse Twitter and Facebook.)

SHOP LOCAL SOCIAL will take place at SummerHouse on the evening of Thursday, April 28. The whole idea behind SHOP LOCAL SOCIAL was to highlight some of our favorite local shops, artists, and eateries as well as to bring a little more awareness to SummerHouse! We love all of the local joints that really define the Jackson metro area, and we are SO excited to be partnering with JFP because they know how to throw a party! Plus they are just awesome in general.

So what can I expect at this party? So glad you asked!  We will have some delicious food, great wine, a fun photo booth (complete with really cute photographer!), a DJ who really knows how to mix some tunes, live models wearing items from Blithe and Vine, a gorgeous jewelry artist showing off her handiwork, VIP swag bags, and much more….

Over the Weekend

Over the Weekend

As many of you know, we had our big BACKDOOR SALE this past Saturday! It was a huge success! We had so much fun and sent lots of people home with some great furniture at killer prices! It was quite the rewarding day for us… :)

After the backdoor sale ended around 1:00, we focused our attention on the Township Jazz Festival, which was going on right outside our front door! The weather could not have been more beautiful for a day of outdoor activity.  Lisa sang a few jazz numbers with Raphael Semmes and his instrumental group.  She did a great job, and looked fabulous up there, as always!
