Lisa and Elish have a beautiful ongoing project with a very dear client who lives in a fantastic Fondren home, and the master bedroom in this home has recently been completed!
Lisa on this bedroom:
“When I first met with my client, the first thing I noticed about this room was that the original furnishings were out of scale. The bed was too small for the space, the side tables were too small, and the rug was too small. So my challenge was to make sure that the pieces I selected would fit in this very large room with large walls and tall ceilings.”
“My client wanted a sitting area where they could watch television, but they also wanted to be able to watch television from their bed, so I had that challenge too.”
“The client wanted the bedroom to be a “home away from home.” My design approach was to make it light and airy and soft so I chose fabrics that were a mixture of natural linen, velvet, and even a washable velvet on the swivel chairs and ottoman in the sitting area. When you’re going white on upholstery, that kind of thing is important!”
“There’s a lot of custom work in this space as well. The bed, the etagere, the desk, and the side tables were all custom made. In fact, the desk was touched by four different artisans!”
“There was some renovation in the space as well. We changed an old, low cased archway by raising it and adding old beams. We redesigned the fireplace, mantle, and stonework to give it a fresh look. And we repainted all the walls.”
“The room is now updated, bright, and I think really beautiful.”
This is what we call a MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
