You might remember the teaser we shared last week about the home that hosted the photo shoot for the Mistletoe Marketplace steering committee! Well, we’re here to deliver on our promise of more photos from this stunning residence designed by our very own Lisa Palmer… Are you ready?!
Ladies and gentlemen… Feast your eyes!
When Lisa first started on this project, the house had not been updated in about 20 years. It was beautifully done, but it was a lot of bright color and pattern, and the client wanted something lighter and softer.
“We started with rugs from NOLA Rugs in New Orleans and went from there.” says Lisa. “We worked with some of her antique pieces and added new pieces that will be future antiques for her.”
The painting in this photo is by Brent Smith out of Mobile. His work is breathtaking!!
The painting in the dining room was a commission of the client’s cousin Martha Rea Baker from Santa Fe. Lisa worked closely with Baker on this piece, which turned out beautifully.
Working in the sun room was a bit of a challenge, but Lisa was able to overcome all obstacles and make this room absolutely fabulous! “It was important to the client that they had an unincumbered view of the lake. It was a challenge because there was a television and not much wall,” says Lisa.
It’s easy to see why the client insisted on having a clear view. This lake is SO pretty!
Lisa says, “The only thing we worked with in the bedroom was the rug. Then we found that beautiful B Viz pillow! She really wanted that room to be a respite where she could really relax.”
Overall, Lisa says she loves working with homes that have a lot of history and personality. “And not only did this home have history and personality, but my client has a long history in the community and LOTS of personality! I love working with her,” Lisa says.

Outdoor Oasis

Designer Todd Prince and his lovely assistant Tina had quite a busy week last week! They had two major installs, both of which we’re excited to tell you about! One was interior and one was exterior, so today we’re sharing the exterior one! With the lovely weather we had over the weekend, it just seems appropriate to keep up the spirit of outdoor entertaining…
This beautiful outdoor oasis is open, breezy, and (of course) weather proof! Todd picked all of the furniture from a couple of our favorite outdoor lines: Lee Industries and Summer Classics. It all blends together so perfectly!
All of the custom detail (like the custom banding on the bottom of the dining chairs, and the specially made drapery hardware) make this space interesting and personal as well as beautiful.
Gorgeous outdoor fabrics from Perennials (notice the contrast fabrics on the white arm chairs!), Nomi, Donghia, and Dedar add just the perfect amount of color and texture…
After a hard day’s work, these clients were ready to throw an amazing outdoor soiree!

Photo Shoot at a Pretty House

Yesterday, we had a great time at a dear client’s beautiful home getting set up for a photo shoot for the Mistletoe Marketplace Steering Committee!
Talented photographer Allison Muirhead got some great shots of the fun Junior League gals (and talking to all of them got us excited about Mistletoe Marketplace even though it’s not until November!)
While the photo session was going on, we walked around the rest of the house and snapped a few shots of this GORGEOUS home. Here are a few teasers… More photos to come in the very near future!

Barry Dixon Event Recap

Last night’s Barry Dixon Event was such a blast! A great time was had by all!
We’d like to give a big thank you to Barry for coming in and being so sweet to take pictures, sign books and share stories with us for so many hours! We’d also like to give a huge thanks to Arteriors Home for sponsoring the event! The collection Barry did with Arteriors could not be more beautiful accenting our showroom floor!
We hope our guests had as much fun as we did!

Derek Emerson, chef at Walker’s and Local 463, came up with a beautiful, tasty Southern menu that everyone absolutely loved! And the signature cocktail, The Mason Dixon, was a big hit as well! Thanks to Sean at Calistoga Wine & Spirits and Marty for coming up with such a perfect drink to keep the party alive!
The biscuits were so good that Elish and Todd almost got into it!

Tranquil Retreat in Delta Magazine

Our very own Elizabeth Gullett was featured in the latest issue of Delta Magazine! This tranquil retreat out in Brandon has a very beachy feel, specifically designed by Elizabeth to compliment the home’s location on the water! When we went out for this shoot, we really did feel like we were on vacation when really we were only minutes from home!

Today is the Big Day!

Our staff had a blast over dinner last night with the wildly entertaining Barry Dixon.
We are absolutely THRILLED that today is here! As Lisa mentioned on Facebook this morning,
she (as well as the rest of us) are “truly honored and humbled to have him.”
We hope to see you tonight as we host Barry and hear about his exciting adventures in the world of design!
We promise you’ll have a great time and you’ll be thoroughly entertained!

The big Barry Dixon event is THIS Thursday! Only two days away!
We are so excited to host this one-of-a-kind event alongside Arteriors for such a design celebrity as Barry Dixon!

Not only is Barry extremely talented, but he is genuinely one of the nicest people we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know!
We know you’re going to really enjoy talking with him and hearing him share about his design adventures.
In case you haven’t heard, Barry is an Ole Miss graduate, so he is calling this event a homecoming of sorts!
He loves his Mississippi friends and has had some really kind words to say about us Mississippians
(and our homes!)
“Perhaps the greatest quality a home might possess is that of innate, soulful hospitality,” Barry says. “The South, Mississippi in particular, literally oozes this cardinal quality, and her children take it with them wherever they go…”
Come meet Barry on Thursday night from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. over a bite to eat (prepared by James Beard Award winning Chef Derek Emerson of Walker’s and Local 463!) and a Mason Dixon signature cocktail! Raphael Semmes and his trio will also be here providing some groovy tunes to set the mood for the affair!
